How it works

The executive campaign, in the order that works

My Executive Career Coach runs every engagement as an individualized campaign with Linda Van Valkenburgh: a free assessment and a complimentary 30-minute consultation first, then positioning, documents, targeting, outreach, interviews and negotiation, in that order, on a weekly rhythm. Virtual, nationwide and confidential.

Why does the order matter?

Each step depends on the one before it. A resume written before the positioning is clear says the wrong things well. Outreach before targeting spends relationships on the wrong doors. Most stalled executive searches are stalled because something was done out of order, and the fix is usually to go back one step, not to work harder at the current one.

  1. Step 1

    Assessment

Five minutes, read personally by Linda. Where you are, what you want, and how you have been searching so far.

  2. Step 2

    Consultation

A complimentary 30-minute working session. Linda reviews what you sent and the scope is decided honestly: full campaign, documents only, or interview and negotiation work alone.

  3. Step 3

    Positioning

Your value proposition and branding statement: who you are, what you do best and why a company should want you. Everything downstream is built on it.

  4. Step 4

    Documents

An ATS-optimized, achievement-rich executive resume and a LinkedIn profile that positions you before you ever apply, written one-on-one.

  5. Step 5

    Targeting

A defined target market and a named company list, so the search runs toward specific doors rather than job boards.

  6. Step 6

    Outreach

Network activation and recruiter strategy on a weekly execution rhythm, sequenced discreetly for a confidential search.

  7. Step 7

    Interviews

Validation stories, interview dissection, mock video interviews, closing meetings, follow-up and reference coaching.

  8. Step 8

    Negotiation

The compensation worksheet keeps the emotion out of the offer response, and Linda is there through the close.

Questions people ask before they call

How does working with an executive career coach start?

With a free five-minute assessment that Linda Van Valkenburgh reads personally, followed by a complimentary 30-minute consultation. That conversation decides the scope honestly: a full campaign, documents only, or interview and negotiation work alone.

What order does an executive career campaign follow?

Positioning, then documents, then targeting, then outreach, then interviews, then negotiation. Each step depends on the one before it, and most stalled searches are stalled because something was done out of order.

Can I run a campaign while I am still employed?

Yes. Most of Linda's clients are employed and searching confidentially. Discretion is built into every step, from how the LinkedIn profile is updated to how outreach is sequenced.

Do I have to buy a full package?

No. The consultation exists to work out which parts you actually need rather than to sell the largest option. Some clients need the full sequence; some need a resume and LinkedIn profile; some are already in final rounds and need interview and offer work only.
